California Association of
Mental Health Peer-Run Organizations

CAMHPRO was founded in 2012 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit incorporated consumer-run statewide organization consisting of member entities, established, independent, and successful consumer-run organizations, and individual consumer members or peers.

The specific purpose of CAMHPRO is to promote the work and mission of peer-run organizations devoted to advocacy and empowerment for mental health consumers. CAMHPRO advocates for organizations and individual peers within counties, regions, statewide, and nationally.

As an association of peer-run organizations, CAMHPRO facilitates training and coordinates resources for consumer-operated services, peer support, and self-help programming in diverse communities.

Our Programs

Lived Experience, Advocacy, and Diversity | LEAD | CAMHPRO

Lived Experience, Advocacy, and Diversity (LEAD) is a statewide three-year project funded by the Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission (MHSOAC) for Client/Consumer Stakeholder Education, Advocacy and Outreach activities.

CalHOPE Support Project | CalHOPE | CAMHPRO

CalHOPE Support Project is a one-year program funded by the Department of Healthcare Services (DHCS) and administered by the California Mental Health Services Authority (CalMHSA). CalHOPE Support Specialists provide non-clinical emotional support to Californians in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, natural and human-caused disasters, and other stressors through group and individual counseling, both in person and online.
