Office Administrator

Job Description:

The California Association of Mental Health Peer Run Organizations (CAMHPRO) is a nonprofit statewide organization consisting of individual members with lived experience in mental health and consumer-run organizations/programs reaching thousands of mental health peers. CAMHPRO’s mission is to transform communities and the behavioral health care system throughout California to empower, support, and ensure the rights of consumers, eliminate stigma, and advance self-determination for all those affected by mental health issues.

As a statewide agency advocating for policymakers to meet the needs of the peer/consumer community while promoting the vision of a system of entirely voluntary mental health care in California, CAMHPRO’s work is growing and needs support from people passionate about change and peer support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Duties

  • Capable of multi-tasking and working independently and remotely
  • Read, answer, and sort email and other correspondence
  • Compose correspondence/reports per instructions of Executive Director
  • Manage employees’ equipment and supplies inventory and purchases, as needed
  • Monitor website, and other online subscriptions and accounts, for billing, usage, and data management, in partnership with the CAMHPRO Media Coordinator when possible
  • Assisting the Executive Director with contract invoicing, as well as drafting and monitoring contracts
  • Assisting with some marketing and promotion
  • Providing the logistical support for the local micro and macro events, statewide conference, trainings, and various workshops, virtual and in person
  • Supporting the project teams to manage the calendars of activities for both local and state events, and other administrative support as needed
  • Communicating with community partners, government officials, and members to assist with scheduling and other logistical tasks, as needed, supporting CAMHPRO staff

Duration: 
September 2022 to February 2023 (6 months)

Executive Director of CAMHPRO

Skills:

Required Qualifications

  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of recovery and CAMHPRO
  • Lived experience with mental health challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to consistently represent CAMHPRO in a professional and positive manner
  • Computer fluency, especially in Word, Excel, and Google programs
  • Experience in online meeting hosting, scheduling, and supporting, especially with Zoom
  • Highly organized and resourceful, with attention to detail
  • Work history demonstrating punctuality and reliability, as well as office skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Persons from underserved or unserved communities, or other diverse experiences that will enhance and expand the team
  • Bilingual, Spanish is desirable
  • Training as a Peer Support Specialist, or experience working as a trained peer supporter in any capacity
  • Some knowledge of peer-run organizations and/or the peer movement in mental health
  • Willing able to travel if needed

  • 1 FTE $4,083.33/month gross (based on $49,000 annual equivalent)
